**60th Celebration Update**

Dear Tachi-kids, Families and Friends,
A brief update on the 60th Celebration taking place on May 25th. The Castaway Restaurant recently announced it will no longer be serving dinner leading many to think it is closing. In actuality, it is transitioning into a  complete event center catering to parties, weddings, etc. So rest assured the 60th Celebration will still take place at the Castaway on May 25th.
Please remember that the early RSVP price deadline is coming up on April 17th.
Thank  you!

Our Summer So Far...

This year's student exchange has been very exciting and we are having a wonderful time getting to know the San-Girls. So far, the students have done ceramic painting, been interviewed by Michel Nolan from the Sun newspaper, visited with the Rotary Club, had a Welcome Reception at Shandin Hills Golf Club, had a Fiesta get together, went to Knott's Berry Farm, and spent a long, fun weekend with their families. It is so exciting seeing these girls experience the American culture. We will be posting more pictures as the month goes on.

Please view the interview with Michel Nolan at the link below.

Summer 2016... It's a wrap!

As we look back on the friendships and memories made over the past two months, it's sad to say that it's finally over. As a committee, we had a blast getting to know this year's San & Tachi-kids. There were many hugs at the sayonara party, not something the Japanese traditionally do. But around here, we're not just friends, we're a family! The San Bernardino Sister City Committee would like to thank all of the dedicated volunteers that keep this program going strong... We've made it through another summer, and soon we'll be getting ready for another group of kids. Till then, Sayonara!
